Advice on How to Cleanse Your Colon

Advice on how to cleanse your colon:

In today’s modern society we are exposed to a large variety of harmful toxins. These come from pollutants in the air, additives in our water and from our diet. Many of the processed foods that we purchase from our supermarket will contain numerous additives that accumulate in our bosies over time. This leads to decreased energy levels and ill health.
One way to considerably reduce the levels of tocins in our body is to cleanse the colon. This helps by ridding the body of accumulated waste contained in mucous and undigested matter that has built up in the colon. A cleanse works by stimulating muscle activity in the colon which helps to dislodge and remove impacted waste.

There are several methods we can use to cleanse our colon. One method is to find an appropriate herbal colon cleansing product. Use caution when choosing these products. Some may be little more than synthetic laxatives marketed as a colon cleanse and can cause troublesome side effects such as diarrhoea, with loss of nutrients and good bacteria. Bentonite clay is found in many products and there is disagreement as to whether it helps or not. Psyllium husk is also common in cleansing products but in reality is more of a bulking agent and adds little benefit o the product. Cascara Sagrada is commonly used but may cause prolonged diarrhoea which although initially useful is not desirable in the long term. Try to find a product containing flax seed. This has many health benefits and tends to cause less adverse effects than other products.
Another method is water fasting. This is where you abstain from consuming anything other than water , though this is best undertaken on expert advice. Juicde fasting is another method whereby you drink a lot of fruit and vegetable based juices. Fruits and vegetables such as mango, apple, pineapple and carrots are especially good as they contain enzymes which help break down the hardened mucous iattached to the wall of the colon.

Of all the methods available, possibly the most natural is to use dietary changes. Firstly its important to avoid processed foods. These are more difficult to digest, which can lead to constipation and a build up of toxins within the colon walls. Try to eat natural foods like fruits and vegetables and other foods rich in fibre such as whole grains. Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses a day. Adding a herbal supplement to a healthy diet may also help.
There are many ways to cleanse your colon but its extremely useful to seek expert advice before you begin, in order to improve its effectiveness and reduce any unwanted effects. Cleansing your colon is extremely beneficial when its done right. Many people lose weight and reduce their body fat, they also often find that they have far more energy than they’ve had for many years!
